As we have just seen, Jesus has
experienced death on man's behalf.
He has also been resurrected.
This leads to an obvious question
---
Where is Jesus now?
The answer can be found in the following scripture ---
Hebrews 10:12 "... this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God..."
In other words, Jesus has ---

But he has not left us behind...
Now, through the bloodline that we share with Jesus, ---

In other words, as alluded to in
the following passages,
'death & resurrection' can now be experienced through faith in Jesus ---
Romans 6:3-7 "...do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? (v.4) Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. (v.5) For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection. (v.6) Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. (v.7) For he who has died has been freed from sin."
Romans 8:1-2 "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. (v.2) For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death"
Romans 8:11 "...If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you."
We will be taking a more detailed look at the whole process of 'death & resurrection' shortly.
But right now, simply note that the way into the tabernacle is now open ---Since we are now able to experience 'death & resurrection' through Jesus
(as represented by the "altar" and the "bronze basin"),
we are no longer blocked from the tabernacle's 'promised land'.
And this brings us to yet another of the bible's parallels ---
Do you remember who led the way when Israel (physically) crossed the Jordan river and entered the promised land, long ago?
Here is a hint ---
Deuteronomy 3:28 "... command Joshua, and encourage him and strengthen him; for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which you shall see".
Yes... it was Joshua.
And who is it that leads believers into the promised land now?
Actually, it is again... 'Joshua'.
Jesus
is actually the Greek form for the Hebrew name "Y'shua"
Or in other words, "Joshua".
Thus, just as scripture 'predicted'
long ago,
it is indeed 'Joshua' (Y'shua / Jesus) who shall "cause
them to inherit the land". 70
It is Y'shua / Jesus who leads
the way across the 'spiritual Jordan river',
and into the 'promised land' of restored relationship with God.
Hopefully, you can see that this is hardly a coincidence...
On the contrary, this is simply further evidence that the scenarios in Israel's past were always intended to point forward, and are now being fulfilled... step by step!
The first Joshua led the people of Israel from the wilderness, across the Jordan, and into the physical 'promised land' of Canaan. But as we've seen, they were unable to take "everlasting possession" of the promised land, because the 'leaven of sin' had not yet been dealt with, and remained within them spiritually.
So now we see another 'Joshua' (Y'shua / Jesus)... As we will soon see in greater detail, through his sacrifice, the spiritual 'leaven of sin' has finally been put to death, and thus he leads his people from the 'outer court' (which they had never really left spiritually), across the Jordan, and into the spiritual 'promised land'.
This should be exciting news for Israel, because as the tabernacle's symbolism has long indicated, it is only after having first attained "everlasting possession" of the 'spiritual promised land', that the 'physical promised land' here on earth will be attained.
